Course Description
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) course for Grades 1-2 builds up the foundational ICT knowledge and skills that make student comfortable on using the computer. It covers the basic computer operations such as the copy-pasting, saving of a file, arranging files with folder, proper keyboard typing, utilizing computer’s basic functionalities, basics in word processing, proper online searching, and online safety awareness.

Intro Unit: Introduction to Wells ICT

  • What are the traits of a responsible digital citizen?
  • How to submit or turn in a digital work?

Unit 1: Word Processing & Literacy

  • How to properly type words on a computer keyboard?
  • What are the names and correct spelling of common computer operations?

Unit 2: Computer System & Technology

  • What are the basic parts of a computer?
  • How to create, save, and open a file?

Unit 3: Math & Logic

  • Why passwords should be hard to guess but easy to remember?
  • What happens when the close button is clicked?

Unit 4: Online Collaboration & Digital Citizenship

  • How to visit and use an educational website?
  • How to search on the Internet and use the result for presentation?

Unit 5: Design & multimedia

  • What are the programs we can use to create computer artworks?
  • How to adjust the speaker volume?
